We find several pre-1789 (fermiers généraux) hallmarks at the base; two of them are difficult to read but one is very clear and that is the maker's mark of François-Martin Michelin, registered in 1758. His workshop was located 50 miles from Paris in the adorable medieval town of Provins, an important trading hub for the Champagne fairs back in the day. Condition of the cup is very good with a minute crack and scuffing to the rim where the cup has been re-stamped at some point (please see photo). There are no dents or dings to this sparkling, superb cup.Measures 11.6 cms tall (4.5 inches) and weighs 112 grams. Holds 12 fluid ounces; wow!
