A fine French tea cup and saucer. This tea cup and saucer was crafted in the late 1800s by Gustav Veyrat of Paris from solid 950 sterling silver.
The tea cup and saucer have both suffered small "dings" and are clearly photographed. The small dings are to be expected for an item well over 100 years old. The face of the tea cup is monogrammed. Both pieces are very clearly hallmarked with the French Minerva and the number 1 for 950 silver, a grade higher than sterling silver. They are both hallmarked as well "GV" for Gustav Veyrat of Paris, 1894 - 1911.
How fortunate both the cup and saucer to have remain together! The saucer measures 4 3/4 inches wide while the tea cup measures just under 1 7/8 inches tall. Both pieces feature a lovely Rococo styling and are ready for use to decoration. S&H will be 3 dollars.
