French, sterling silver Circa 1850s guilloche tea cup & saucer by Parisian silversmith Philippe Berthier active from 1841 to 1851. Elaborately decorated with hand chased floral & leaf design with rose buds & bullfinch sitting upon large open paper scroll designed for the monogram. Engine turning ground upon each piece with matching decor. The cup accommodated with highly attractive wood, leaves & berries design handle. Overall very good condition, used, some bottom scratches, minor body marks. Marked: P a duckling B with-in diamond Minerva. Cup's Height2 1/2 in. Saucer's Diameter 6 1/2 in.
