Charming French Antique sterling silver wine cup or "timbale, " c. The tulip-shaped beaker has been engraved from head to toe with an ornate flower and foliage pattern and sits on a pedestal decorated with palmettes and pearls. We find an engraved name along the base of the cup reading M. Audureau, as well as the French minerva 1 hallmark, indicating a fineness of 950/1000 parts silver (higher than sterling).
We have been unable to identify the maker of this cup, but the maker's mark appears to read P. With two stars and a chalice.
